Yeah you can be free to do anything you want, but its sad that the only freedom you see is the freedom to be lazy, because as a country we're compasionite enough to not let you starve, but instead keep food on your table. And not sure if you're aware of it, but freedom isn't all that makes this country great. Yeah i'm sure you, and the other 25 unemployed people who hang out on your lawn daily could easily take me down, if you happen to be out of bed by the time i come through, but once again you've spent another day doing nothing productive except taking out one of the millions of people who pay taxes to allow you to put those nice $4,000.00 rims on your $400.00 car. I'm pretty sure in your mind you think the big talk like " you wouldn't last a minute in my hood" really strikes fear into people, well you're wrong. Why don't you ask yourself, who, besides your other lazy friends cares about any aspect of your little life. I'm pretty sure that "hatin" means insulting someone because you're jealous of some aspect of their lives. To all you goofballs calling yourself thugs, go buy some clothes that fit, and grow up. For everyone out there who does work for what they have, in an office, in fast food, or a service station, and all the single moms who are actually trying to not have as many kids as possible, but are teaching there kids what it is to be a good person keep up the good work. I hope most of you grow up soon before you make the mistake of robbing the wrong person or breaking into the wrong house, and you end up in a box, because you were far to lazy to go out and get a job. Anyone of any race with some intelligence that reads half of these posting with all the made up words, will only laugh or think its sad that this is as far as you want to make it in life. Whether you're white, black or hispanic, if the only way you feel powerful is by intimidation, then you have taken a country that is willing to give you every chance and wasted it. And just so you know i'm a 29 year old white male, so call me racist or a "hater" or whatever the made up word is this week, but nobody is scared or has and respect for your so called gang. I hate to tell you, but you only have so much time to make your life mean something, and if you don't believe me, ask yourself "whens the last time i saw a 50 year old thug?", because you can't act like a moron forever. I can't understand why you don't want to better yourselves, instead of living off my dollar. I can't understand when i see a 40 year old guy walking down the sidewalk waiting on the city bus with a huge white t-shirt, pants about to fall off, and the brightest colored shoes on earth, what is going through this mans mind. Well look around, every clown walking up and down north tryon is dressed just like you. You talk about how you dress like thugs to show your independence and how your unique. Yeah, it might be a percentage black area, but its the whites, hispanics and blacks trying to make a name for themselves by acting "gansta" whatever that is, that have ruined this whole area. Its sad to see whats happened to this area and its even more sad to realize that the community itself are the ones who ruined it. I live just outside Charlotte by a few miles, and use to go to Eastland Mall every weekend as a kid, when businesses on albemarle road and north tryon were thriving. Still, the problem with gangs is that they are so easily formed. And CMPD has talked a lot about their efforts in recent years to combat gang activity in the streets and schools. I've followed the Hidden Valley Kings in the news a little since I've lived here and I know that police and federal task forces have arrested most of the gang's leaders. It's interesting-and at the same time disturbing-to see that this kind of coordinated violence and drug activity is happening so close to home. That kind of growth itself leads to more crime and gang activity is naturally a part of it. As the documentary points out, Charlotte's population has doubled in the last two decades. The one-hour episode (45 minutes in the video below without commercials) could make this city look like a scary place to live. Gangland, a riveting series on The History Channel that takes you inside violent gang culture, profiled the Hidden Valley Kings, the gang named after their northeast Charlotte neighborhood. Charlotte was spotlighted last night on national television, but it was the kind of coverage that has to make the city's boosters cringe.
